Ladbrokes Teams Up with Cirsa Slot for Spanish Betting Licenses

One of the leading gambling companies in Europe, Ladbrokes, is aiming to expand its operations in Europe by focusing on the Spanish market.

Ladbrokes is the operator of the popular Ladbrokes online casino.

The bookmaker will be teaming up with the Spanish slot machine company Cirsa Slot. The slot machines of Cirsa Slot, a company that represents approximately 9% of the Spanish slot games machine market, can be found in bars and arcades across Spain.

“We have formed a joint venture with a market leader in Spain that gives us access to a network of thousands of potential site operators,” Ladbrokes said.

The partnership between the 2 gaming companies will initially be for the application of a betting license in Madrid, which will come under new regulations. Ladbrokes is planning to submit their application for its 5 year Spanish license in mid-January. A spokesperson said that the company expects to hear the decision on its application within the first quarter of 2007.

Ladbrokes and Cirsa Slot will also be applying for betting licenses in other parts of Spain.
