Morgan Hotel Picks Joseph Magliarditi as President and CEO of Hard Rock Hotel

The Morgans Hotel Group announced on May 26th, 2010 that M Resort official Joseph Magliarditi has been chosen as the president and chief executive officer of the Hard Rock Hotel.

Magliarditi, the chief operating officer of M Resort, has been with the hotel/casino since its opening in March 2009. He also served as an official with the Marnell Sher Gaming Company, which manages hotel/casinos in Pahrump and Laughlin.

Magliarditi will replace Randy Kwasniewski, who was found dead in his residence in Summerlin on March 9th, 2010 from a gunshot wound on the head. Hard Rock officials said that Magliarditi brings more than sixteen years of hotel and gaming experience to the resort. Magliarditi said that he is very excited to join the Hard Rock and Morgans Hotel Group teams.

Before joining the M Resort and Marnell Sher Gaming, Magliarditi was the chief operating officer of a software group. In the gambling industry, Magliarditi was an executive with the Rio and Harrah’s Entertainment.

Fred Kleisner, Morgans Hotel Group Chief Executive Officer told gambling regulators earlier this month that Hard Rock made some significant changes to their operating and policies procedure. Kleisner, who served as the property’s temporary Chief Executive Officer, said that they have all the necessary measures to make sure that they will not have a problem with their casino policies and operations.

The Hard Rock formally opened the 492-room Paradise Tower, the 375-room HRH Tower, a new convention space, bigger concert venue and other amenities in 2009. In March 2010, Morgans informed investors that the Hard Rock posted its lowest gaming earnings since 2006 last year, reporting a revenue drop of 1.7%, to $161.5 million dollars from $164.3 million dollars in 2008.
