CityCenter Project Attractions Opens to the Public

MGM Mirage and other casino developers in Las Vegas are hoping that the brand new CityCenter project will help bring back gamers to Las Vegas.

The Aria Resort and Casino is the main attraction of CityCenter and it will open in less than two weeks. In the meantime, MGM Mirage has not left gaming enthusiasts wondering what the rest of the CityCenter project will look like. This week, several of the other tourist attractions in CityCenter were opened.

On December 7th, 2009, the Vdara hotel opened to the public. The hotel facility has 1,500 rooms and is expected to attract some of the top high rollers all over the world. Later in the week, on December 10th, 2009, restaurants and retail establishments inside the Crystals mall were opened. A smaller hotel facility, the Mandarin Oriental, opened on December 11th, 2009.

The Mandarin Oriental has over 225 condominiums and almost four hundred hotel rooms. The main attraction of the hotel is a sky lobby looking out over the strip on the 23rd floor. The casino facility itself will be opened on December 16th, 2009. The project has been in the works for quite some time and MGM is very happy that they were able to finish its construction.

For a while over the summer, it looked like the CityCenter project would not be completed on time. MGM and their partners, Dubai World, had been in a legal battle. However, the companies agreed to settle their differences and Dubai World agreed to resume financing their part of the CityCenter project.
